About Chris McElroy SEO Agency

We are a full service digital marketing agency. Our founder Chris McElroy started in digital marketing in the 90s, before Google became the default search engine it is today. High-Quality Content + Multi-Channel Content Marketing + Conversion Rate Optimization means ranking higher, expanding your reach and turning visitors into customers. This strategy is why we’re still around 30 years later.

AI powered search is a hot topic and a lot of agencies are promoting new acronyms Like GEO & AEO. SEO done properly hasn’t been replaced. AI just exposed the low-effort SEO tactics some people were using. Keyword-stuffed content and buying backlinks was never a good SEO strategy.

High-quality well-structured content, schema markup, answering peoples’ questions, & digital publishing were all good practices before AI search was a thing. We’ve been doing all of those things for years without feeling the need to create new acronyms just to get you to pay for something new.

Experience Matters

Hiring a digital marketing agency becomes necessary when you want to grow online without running everything yourself. You have a business to manage, and learning SEO, content creation, analytics, and website maintenance isn’t where your time is best spent. Trust matters, and it should be earned. Since 1996, we’ve helped businesses build visibility, credibility, and make sales online by doing work the right way.

What Makes Us Different From Other Digital Marketing Agencies?

EEAT illustration by Chris McElroy SEO Agency
EEAT stands for Experience, Expertise, Authority & Trustworthiness. This is a good guide on how to build your brand.
  • Conversion Rate Optimization: We focus on converting your visitors into customers. We write to them. not to Google or AI systems. No reason to rank high in Google if you can’t close the sales. Read more.
  • SEO: Search Everywhere Optimization is a more appropriate name today, since people search everywhere, not just in Google. Backlinks. We prefer link attraction to link building and that is accomplished with great content.
  • Content: All of our content is 100% written by human copywriters. AI generated content will not attract Google or AI systems to your pages and posts for answers and it can’t close sales like our expert human copywriters can. Read more.
  • Content Marketing. We prefer publishing content on sites like LinkedIn, Medium and Substack using a system we call Integrated Content Marketing over just sharing your blog posts on social media. Read more.
  • Entity SEO: We understand how Google’s knowledge graph and AI systems use entities and how to strengthen your brand’s entity across the web. Read more.
What really makes our SEO agency different?
  1. We actually care that you succeed.
  2. We never try to sell you anything we don’t believe you truly need.
  3. We don’t hide behind charts, graphs and anonymous case studies to distract you from the fact you’re not getting leads.
  4. We don’t believe our job is complete just because we got you on the front page of Google. If that doesn’t result in leads or sales, we find another way.
  5. This is the biggest one. We put in the work. We don’t use shortcuts. We don’t let AI automate everything.
We work hard for you.

When I take on a project, I own it. I’m a salesman that learned how to do SEO, not an SEO guy trying to learn how to sell. The bottom line is will what I do for you generate leads and sales, not just whether I can help you rank in Google. Vanity metrics don’t improve the bottom line. Real leads and sales does.

Where Our Strategies Have Been Most Successful

We’ve worked with both B2B and B2C businesses, corporate and SMB clients

Industries:

Home services businesses, (e.g. door & window replacement, drain repair, basement waterproofing, tile flooring, & other contractors that serve customers in multiple service areas.)

Industries Requiring Compliance, (e.g. financial, medical & insurance, legal, investment related)

B2B service companies (e.g.  retail security and loss prevention, signage companies, POS vendors, IT companies, SAAS companies, and more)

Real estate, (e.g. resort & vacation properties, apartment & condo projects, individual agents, real estate brokers and mortgage companies.)

We’ve provided one-time and ongoing services for small and large projects

Examples:

We helped move an event security company into a more lucrative and reliable retail security and loss prevention niche. Developed their online and offline marketing and sales strategy.

We increased the number of new homes sold for a home builder after breaking the mold of cookie cutter real estate sites with just listings by building out whole community sections on their website and turning their blog into an online magazine for the areas they served.

We rescued a basement flood prevention company after their rankings and traffic tanked due to actions that were out of their control. We had them back on page 1 of Google for most of their terms within 90 days.

With 30 years in the digital marketing business, we have served clients in a wide variety of niches. Not all of them are listed above. And that list of examples is a tiny portion of what we can show you during a discovery call. In a 15-minute call, our founder, Chris McElroy, will show you exactly how we can work together to solve the biggest digital marketing challenges you are facing right now. Call us, book an appointment, or use our contact form to get in touch.

Is Your Agency A Good Fit For My Company?

Yes If…
  • You are the owner or decision maker. We don’t mind working with more than one person, but with too many filters, it causes projects to take much longer than they should.
  • Your business is located in the US, the UK or Canada.
  • You’ll be ready to start your project within 3 months.
  • You like collaboration and understand this is teamwork.
  • You can provide us with the information we need, images, videos, etc. in a timely manner. This is so we can produce results faster.
  • You want an experienced team rather than just cheap labor.
Not If…
  • You’re still in the idea stage and not ready to invest in execution.
  • You’re in a country that has fluctuating laws and compliance rules that have to be monitored.
  • You’re looking for short-term wins rather than long-term growth. SEO is a marathon, not a sprint.
  • You want us to build adult, gambling, crypto, or scam-prone websites.
  • Your marketing budget is below what’s required to produce meaningful results. We aren’t doing you a favor if we accept less money than it takes to really help you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens during a free consultation like I see offered on your website?

First, you will be meeting with our founder, Chris McElroy, not a sales rep. The meeting is all about you and your project. He wants to know what you are trying to accomplish, what you've tried in the past that worked and what didn't, and what your long term goals are.

Then, he will give you some tips you can do yourself. He has the experience to help you get on the right track and he founded the company on being helpful, so the free consultation is really free. You won't even receive a proposal unless you ask for one.

How to prepare for the consultation; Any reports you have from Google Search Console or other documentation that shows past results is helpful but not necessary. A list of questions you have or a list of the things you want to accomplish is helpful and saves time. You will come away with answers and valuable information whether you hire our agency or not.

If I hire your agency, do I have to sign a long term contract?

For 90% of our clients the answer is no. We do not hold you to a long term contract. The only time a contract is necessary is if we set up a payment plan for your website development project or give you a large discount for monthly services.

How often do I get reports?

We prepare a detailed monthly report for you that has four parts. 1. What we did for you this month. 2. The results of what we did for you this month, including analytics. 3. What we plan to do next month. 4. Other things we can do for you if you approve. You can also request more frequent reports or call us at any time, even if it's just because you had an idea. We work with you as your team and communication is essential.

Do I own my own domains, hosting accounts and software licenses?

Domain Names: We always advise clients to make sure their domain is in their name or business name. No one else needs to have their name on any part of your domain name registration.

Hosting: We offer three choices. 1. You can set up your own hosting account and add us as a collaborator or team member. 2. We work on your website on one of our staging grounds and migrate it to your account once it's complete. 3. We offer managed WordPress hosting. It's a premium service that includes ongoing support and maintenance, checking your site daily, updating all plugins and themes, addressing any spam issues and doing security checkups to keep your site safe.

Software: Any necessary software should be licensed to you. Whether we need any software depends on the project and if we need subscriptions we'll help you set them up. Examples; a page builder, SEO plugin, backup or security plugin.
